" You get more out of going to Mass when you're involved as a server or something."

This is what a group of  teens involved in the

altar server, lector, and music ministries

were saying when we got together recently.

If you have ever thought about joining one of these ministries, please contact Corey  and I can point you in the right direction.

And thank you to all of you who currently serve as servers, lectors, cantors, musicians, and ushers.

 A Reflection of CHWC 2018

After CHWC 2017 I thought it would be near impossible to top that camp. It was one of the best CHWC I have ever been on, but never under estimate the power of teens. CHWC 2018 not only matched 2017 but surpassed it in so many ways. You knew it was going to be a good week when by 7am on our way to camp the entire bus is singing and energized. This year we headed to rural Huntingburg Indiana. Very different from last year Oil City which was classic up and coming town during the early 1900's. The school we stayed at this year was surrounded by fields on all sides and The League of their Own stadium right two miles down the road. Our teens got an opportunity to go to a game at that stadium and participate in some of the activities during the game. The town of Huntingburg met us with huge excitement, this was a new experience for us. Typically at camp you connect with those you work with but not the town itself. This year this rural town meet us as we got off the bus excited to be apart of our week. All the project this year had one thing in common: hard labor. Our teens and adults would come back daily exhausted from work but would be ready for all our evening programs. The priest we had for the week gave our teens an excellent challenge. He said "When we do the bare minimum in our faith, going to weekly Mass and confession once a year, is like getting a D in school. You passed, but we do not strive for D average in our life, we strive for A's. Don't just try to "pass your faith" LIVE IT, DO MORE, we are called to greatness." These are words that will echo in our teens hearts for as long as they live.

For Everyone That Has Already Graduated From High School

Do you have a college teen? We would love to send them a care package and some encouragement. Please send us their address!

Dear Parents,
Over the years, a team of adult leaders/youth ministers has developed allowing our parish to provide a broad variety of programs to reach teens with a broad range of interests. Consider what we have available for high school teens at our parish. Please encourage your children to get involved in whatever best fits their  interests.  If you need help figuring out where they would feel most comfortable, please contact me.

Peace ,

Corey Lesko
